Chapter 5: Setting Up a Workbook

Intro:
Create a new workbook in Excel 2007.
A blank workbook, contains 3 worksheets. Add, Delete and Hide worksheets withing the workbook.

To exercise with the workbooks that have been already created for Consolidated Messenger. This is to show how the Excel 2007, be used in workbooks.

Creating Workbooks:

When you use the save file, you could overwrite the copy you did before or make changes to where you want to save it.

But in the Save As dialog box, its different for the new file and location in which to save the new version to the file.

Property or information, save specific information about your file.

It is how to set up the workbook's properties.

In Properties dialog box, that is the Custom tab. It explains how can you use it, for example. Text, Date, Number, Yes/No) selecting or typing a value in the Value field, and then clicking Add.

Modyfying Workbooks:

Create a workbook to record information, that should thus represent a subdivision of that activity. So, it is about how to put in a worksheet information of some source of activity.

Create a worksheet in Excel 2007, has options such as to put a name, such as Sheet4, Sheet5, Sheet6 and stuff like that. Basically is about changing the name to the worksheet and how to do it.

How to copy one worksheet to more copy, from another workbook to the one in the current workbook. And it is explained too.

In the selecting the Create Box, this makes a copy check box leaves the copied worksheet in the same workbook. This explains how the Create Box do.

Changing the locations of the worksheet or worksheet's, in the workbook. And explains how to do this changing location of the worksheet in the workbook.

Copy a worksheet to another workbook. This does when it is in active workbook, the worksheet retains its tab color. Also, if there is another workbook with different theme applied, it changes the tab colors, that make the same theme.

If you don't want or use a worksheet, it can be deleted. And explains how to do delete the worksheet.

It explains that in the bottom there is instructions, to excercise insert and rename worksheet, change worksheet's position in a workbook, hide and unhide the worksheet, copy the worksheet to another workbook, and worksheet's tab color and delete a worksheet.
